I agree! These bans are not enforced so most people don't pay any attention to them. And occasionally, by some miracle, when cars are moved from the odd side, in 16 years I have yet to see a plow clear all the way to the curb. Can we get some enforcement of these or get rid of them entirely? Thank you.

How about a holiday adopt-a-car parking program? A lot of on-street parkers rent in the many apartments in our neighborhood that don't have off-street spaces. This time of year they leave their cars on the streets while away for the holidays because they have no option. You say how about the city garages? At $20/day it seems completely rational to take the chance it won't snow while you're away, and your car wont' be towed. How about Yale, whose lots are largely empty over the winter break, make those spaces available to those of their students and employees who live in our neighborhood? Or have the Granite/Audobon/etc garages promote spots available, say, Dec 20-Jan 20?

Well, it is true that on my street not every car was moved. However, on the stretches where hey were moved, the plowing was done fantastically and the result is the street is much clearer than any snowstorm I can remember.

Sadly that was not my experience. There was still a lot of snow on major streets as I drove through the city last night

St Ronan street is a mess due to some city department putting piles of asphalt around the manholes so the road can't be lowed properly. The extremely cold temperatures don't help...
