Description
Hello. I am new to this neighborhood and very concerned that there is not a left turn arrow going into Fairview Estates (on 25th Street) heading East on 62nd Avenue. I have almost been rear ended several times. It would be GREAT if you could add a left turn arrow. Thank you.

Thank you for contacting Pinellas County using our app. The geometry of the roadway, as it currently exists, does not allow the addition of left-turn arrows, because there is no room for the left-turn bays.
The average number of crashes is about 10 per year - AADT on 62nd Avenue North is about 15,000 vehicles per day. Most of the crashes were caused by motorists failing to yield right-of-way to oncoming motorists, or running red lights.
We have been watching this intersection for many years, and had a set of plans to improve the intersection and adjust the alignment of the driveway for the mobile home park to the south. When the economy fell this project was moved out, due to other priorities.
We are looking for funding for an intersection improvement project if the next Penny for Pinellas initiative is approved.
