We haven't had hot water since Tuesday and the landlords haven't communicated with us what the issue is or when is it going to be resolved. Is there anything we can do?

Your paying what, $2000/month for a two bedroom apartment for rent, right? You want hot water with that?! Everyday? You're never late with the rent, paying it the first of the month, every month, right? And you expect your landlord to actually care about your well being in the apartment, and respond to your needs in a timely fashion in an apartment he lowered himself to rent to you. Geez! Asking an awful lot, aren't you?
We can only hope, that one day your thoughtless, heartless landlord will be at the mercy of some other thoughtless, heartless landlord, like him, so he can find out what it's like to be ignored on a simple basic need.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you that soon you can get out from under this a--hole and be able to buy your own place, then you won't be beholden to this low life.
