There should be left turn arrows at EVERY intersection on Broadway in Both directions and a 4 way stop light for pedestrians to cross in both directions at the same time. SOOOOOOOO simple.
NEED LEFT TURN ARROW ON BROADWAY WASHINGTON ST LIGHT!!!! This was reported 6 months ago, 29 people want it fixed. Why can't the light have a left turn arrow. Traffic backs up down Spring St as cars can't turn left easily.
The only official in Saratoga Springs tracking SeeClickFix is the City Engineer and he is only receiving items containing the keywords "engineering" & "design".
I don't know about the specific problems in Saratoga regarding this left turn. However, as a practicing traffic engineer there are always trade offs by increasing the number of phases (left turn, through movement, pedestrian, etc) in a full cycle. There are only so many seconds available. Giving time to one group denies it from others.
Add to this the need to have a progression (green band) on Broadway and the situation becomes more complicated.
The problem could be as simple as the need to install a detector for the left turn but you won't know until you ask.
I would recommend that you ask the City to track SeeClickFix more closely.

My suggestion to the group is for someone to contact the Saratoga Springs DPW at:

and report the response back here.
