Regarding the Yale construction workers with white work van with plates CT 598-VSA parking with visitor tags, which has been going on for months now.
The parking department investigated, and said that the Zone 7 visitor permit, number 15416, is a landlord permit, and the workers are doing work on the landlord's private property.
This is not true. The workers that park this vehicle wear protective gear that identifies them as being from Ducci Electrical, one of the Yale contractors. They workers leave the vehicle and enter the Yale residential college project every day. When we file complaints on the block, it is because we all see who comes and goes. We are not making this stuff up.
Today they parked in front of 29 Winchester, yesterday they parked in front of 68 Mansfield, and Monday they parked in front of 5 Winchester.
This particular case is a perfect example of the city having all the information it needs to fine the owner of the tag $200 for misuse of the permit, and the car should have been fined every single day for the past 4-5 months. The residents of this neighborhood should not have the responsibility of becoming Miami CSI agents to be able to park on their streets.
