I tired of seeing motorist not abiding by the School Zone speed limit. Every time I go through it, there are no less than two drivers zipping through at 40+ mph. Where are the police!!!??? Maybe I see them once a month--and I drive that road at both morning and afternoon SZ intervals. I feel we have enough police to monitor the SZs on the major roads, daily--considering, the intervals are at various times during the day, there is really no excuse! I'm going to start listing plate#'s and vehicle descriptions. I encourage everyone to do the same.

I am all for abiding school zones and I always see people speeding in this area too, but I have 2 comments.
1.) If you are driving on Bellflower Road and turn North on to 306, there is no way to tell that the School Zone lights are blinking. How come the School Zone lights don't blink in both North and South directions? It isn't until you pass Jeremy and look in your rear view do you see that the school zone lights are on.
2.) As stated, I think people need to slow down, but there are probably more dangerous school zones in the area than this one. Bellflower Elem. is a NO walking school. Kids are not allowed to be in the parking lot, let alone 306. The reduced speed zone in my opinion is just so the busses can pull out onto 306, otherwise they wouldn't need one at all.

When you are between the flashing yellow lights on 306 you can see the back of these signs are lit that display school zone. if the wording is not lit the school zone speed is not in effect.

If it is a no walk school area why can't the city/state remove the school zone and install a traffic light with a left turn lane into elementary school? That would solve part of the "I'm in a hurry to get to my very important job" speeding issue. Drivers would have to stop for the red light which will slow them down a lot and by the time they get to Bellflower Rd going South they would hit another red light!
Slow down - do the school zone speed limit - it only takes a minute to get through the area. Fair warning - the cost of the speeding will upset you.

We need more police presents everywhere.
In retrospect I can understand why more tickets are not given out, because if I had to deal with the people today, with there attitudes, I wouldn't want to appear in traffic court with them.
I have a daughter-in-law who is a policewomen, out of state, and she has told many stories of how people act and what they say. I don't know how the police deal with this daily.
