Description
I am excited for New Haven to paint shared road markings this year, and I am hoping that some stretches of road by East Rock Park are included? Drivers behave extremely aggressively here despite the high volume of cyclists and pedestrians.

I'm not sure if they'll be included at East Rock this year, but agree they should be.
In fact, the whole set of markings should be rolled out this month if possible, that the warm weather has arrived.
I've requested a more concrete timeline for implementation of the sharrows several times, but have not received any answers.

Are there plans to add sharrows here this summer?
How are things progressing on the Fair Haven sharrows? Have they been bid out yet?

has there been any word on any sharrows city-wide whatsoever?
this is well beyond when the project was proposed to start.

They still havent painted the shared road mark through East Rock. I was struck with an idea on my ride home yesterday, what if they closed one lane for biking/ running/ walking (painted it green so there is no confusion) and turned the other lane into a one way street. A truly bold move would be to have have one of those traffic lights with a red X and green O to control which direction the traffic flows. In the morning Farnam Dr traffic would flow from Hamden to New Haven and in the afternoon it would reverse going from New Haven to Hamden. This would avoid any disruption in rush hour/ commuter traffic while keeping the road safe for everyone else.
I'm going to post this idea on the "questions" page to get a conversation going.
