Why do tickets continue to be closed without really being resolved?
It is impossible for a pedestrian to walk up 15th under the bridge and beyond safely and this has not changed for a long time now.
The smells are terrible and God knows what kind of diseases are lurking in there. What are we taking home to our newborns?
Recently the occupants have begun getting more aggressive, just last week one making a beeline to block my path forcing me to walk around him, itself a dangerous prospect.
The issues that people take the time to report need to be properly resolved, not closed without a meaningful comment. Resolving is not looking at the problem and shrugging. Resolving is to completely clear these areas and think about installing long term deterrents, such as the iron fences that keep the bottom of Utah Street clear or a regular patrol to stop it taking root again.
Deterrents are needed because in most cases they wait for the crews to go and circle back into place or just around the corner.
They need to have their junk taken from them too. Personal belongings are of course things they should keep but who possibly has need of four strollers and a traffic cone?
Finally, those people sleeping in the RVs and small campers need to be dealt with. Those deteriorating things stink in their own unique way and they just drive them from one parking spot to another nearby so they're not one place too long.
It reached the point of sheer ridiculousness a long time ago.
