Any update? It's been nearly 2 months with no reply. Cars continue to drive down the wrong way.

This issue was forwarded to the Marlborough Traffic Commission. It was taken up during their March 2, 2017 meeting. The issue was discussed and photographs of the intersection were examined at that meeting. It was determined that the intersection could not be more clearly marked as "One Way" than it currently is. The traffic Commission voted to place the issue on file. We are going to close this issue within this forum at this time as the proper protocols have been followed by the governing city authority. - DPW

If it's so clearly marked, then why did the recycling truck just go down the wrong way again?

No vehicles, other than emergency vehicles, are exempt from the one-way designation. The trash company is being notified that their drivers must adhere to the posted traffic regulations. Moving forward, if there are any instances of people ignoring the one-way designation on this or ANY street, the Marlborough Police Department should be notified by telephone at 508-485-1212. This issue, as it stands in this forum, is considered closed at this point. - DPW

Hey Carl and Erin ! Please post a photo on this issue or start a new one. Unless MPD sets up observation the burden is upon YOU. You did your civic duty it’s now time for them to do theirs.

Thanks for doing your civic duty and reporting this! They are now placing burden on YOU to continue reporting— PLEASE post a photograph or start a new issue. Citizens need to be aware of this dangerous situation! Maybe city employees would like to travel on this road and test the signage!

This issue was closed after the proper protocols were followed and a decision by the governing body that determines the requirement of roadway signage reached a verdict on the issue. I will remind you that the original issue was: "Is it possible to install more obvious signage that indicates it is a one way street?". The Traffic Commission reviewed the case and their determination was that it is adequately marked as a one way roadway. That vote was 'no' and the complaint was placed on file. I will also note that any person involved, either directly or in a more ancillary manner, are welcome and encouraged to attend the meetings during which their concerns are heard and actually speak up in person before the Traffic Commission. We try to do our best to solve the issues that are presented to us here in SeeClickFix with the authority that we have here at DPW. However, there will be occasion upon which further steps may be necessitated and require a more active role on the part of the either the initial reporter or their 'active supporters'.
