Hello,
Thanks for posting.
Please take a look at this link...

Taking part and speaking up about these types of issues are a sure fire way to make your voice and concerns heard.
Bringing this issue up to you local elected officials is the best way. As I'm learning myself, the people in place who are there to help us can't if they don't know the problem.
Using SeeClickFix is a great first step, but take some time and contact your elected officials, speak with people at cityhall, and play an active role in your wards functions, and attend ward / city meetings when ever possible.
Thanks for posting

Mr. D'Arcy, I may be missing something here, but I don't understand why so many issues are getting closed without anything actually happening. This then becomes a completely empty gesture.
See Click Fix invites us to submit issues, and then we get this "form letter" type response (see above) that indicates we should not use See Click Fix to try to get these issues resolved. Are not our Aldermen getting emails sent to them when we post within their watch areas?
It is difficult to attend ward meetings. I understand that this may be a sort of "one-way" medium, all complaints/requests for solutions without feedback from our elected officials...BUT perhaps those officials who aren't responding to these issues will start posting their 2 cents here. They will reach their audience in a new way. The whole point of this type of technology, no? I would love to hear a feedback from them here, even if they said, "We've reviewed this issue, but do not have funding to pursue a comprehensive fix this year. Here is what we plan to do..."
Otherwise, what is the point?

Hi LMNoh,
You are right--An issue should be closed only after it has been fixed. When issues are closed prematurely, they disappear from the map (after 2 weeks) and citizens/officials will lose track of them. Seeing as your aldermen are public watchers, they are getting emails about these issues.
So yes, you understand the point of SeeClickFix perfectly. Feel free to reopen issues if you see they have been closed out prematurely.
If an official wants to let SeeClickFix users know that an issue is going to be dealt with soon, the appropriate action is to "Acknowledge" an issue. The "acknowledge" feature is available through a subscription to SeeClickFix Pro (www.seeclickfix.com/pro).
Happy posting.
