You are now the third person who has mentioned that the cubism of graffiti cover-up starts to look somewhat artistic.
I'm sure graffiti artists can now giggle at the irony of our elitist views of art...but seriously I still don't think that signing your your name to nothing is much more artistic than when my dog urinates on a tree.
The dog analogy is perfect, as these "dogs" are in fact "marking" some invisible turf. It's tiresome to write about, but fun to watch the real art form as the city covers up. I especially like the I91 overpass by Wooster Square. It's a goodly collection of earth tones!
