I've been having problems for over four years- since my neighbors moved in. When I asked them nicely to stop their dogs from barking 10 hours a day they cursed me out & started calling me names. One neighbor has moved because of these dogs & that house stands empty. Another neighbor has called & made complaints. And trust me we've had shouting matches at 6 am, 3 am, midnight, etc over this & are no longer on speaking terms. For awhile every time the dogs barked for longer than an hour I would play loud music til they brought them in. I've worked with animal control- they talked to my neighbor and after numerous complaints they finally got them to voluntarily give up one dog. 2 or 3 months later they got another dog, they are up to 4 dogs today. My neighbors don't work & have a police scanner so every time they hear a dog call for our block or theirs they run outside and bring the dogs in. If we call & the cops go over there, within the next two weeks they will call the police and make a untrue complaint against us. For example they called the police and said we threw beer cans at the dogs & showed him 2 budweiser cans in their backyard. When the officer arrived at our home & told us of the complaint they had made against us, we showed him our refrigerator and our trash to show we don't drink beers from cans, thank goodness the cops believed us. They have an autistic child & claim the animals are "therapy dogs"- but the dogs are rarely with the kids. I spent $100 for a ultrasonic device with a remote & dog whistles trying train their dogs not to bark. Last time we went to court- they were told to get a bark collar. So they have it on the largest dog- but never turn it on. I've contacted their landlord by certified mail- he won't help.When we videotaped like animal control suggested for court they screamed obscenities & called my husband a pedophile at the top of their lungs. Now as soon as they see the camera they send the kids outside in their bathing suits, they even called the police & accused my husband of filming the kids for his own enjoyment. I've have never been so upset in my entire life.The cops know whats going on- they've been here enough times and told us we are allowed to continue videotaping. My husband is seriously ill & needs his rest which is impossible with barking dogs 20 feet outside your window. Life is miserable and we can not get any help. Both animal control & the cops act like you are bothering them. A few weeks ago I went to the magistrates office who referred me back to animal control! I spoke to the head of animal control a few weeks ago & he promised to help....we'll see if we get it. If we could sell our house we would! So good luck with your case, hopefully you'll get more help than we have.
