Description

I live at the intersection of 71st and Midland. Behind my house is about 15 acres of woodland. I don't know who owns it, but it is in dire need of attention and stewardship. Kudzu is attacking at stream banks and at intersection with roads. Many, many trees have fallen under the weight of Kudzu and other vines. The ground is littered by fallen trees and branches . The water in the creek is stagnant, scum and oil coat the surface of the water, and there is plenty of litter. In fact, the entire hillside is strewn with beer and Gatorade bottles. Paths are cleared, but maintenance has been a long time coming. I'd like to organize a volunteer clean-up of this space, and possibly a restoration of the bike paths (they were pretty nice for mountain biking in their prime).
Who maintains this land?
Who should I contact to discuss the potential of organizing a clean up?
Who owns the land?
Thank you for your time.
