Should the property be demolished? Yes. Does the city have any authority over abandoned or blighted property? No. It's up to the owner, and if they've allowed the property to sit in dire condition until now, they likely aren't going to do much to fix the problem. Legislation should be passed to let the city retain control of abandoned/condemned properties so that they can be rehabbed or demolished and keep the city looking nice and attract business and commerce. No one wants to live in a city where all of the buildings are falling down or boarded up.

The owner has "x" amount of days to fix the listed violations. If the violations aren't met then further action will be taken to rectify the violations. A letter certified letter was sent last week to last known property owner. Open Investigation, will monitor.

I received on 060117 email from the company that held a lien with this property said that it was sold in May of 2017. Will contact the current ownership and advise them what needs to be done to be in compliance
