It's actually in alignment with the Yellow Striped portion directly opposite the intersection. There is enough room along with the current lane to drive directly across.

The closure information was incorrect. A simple drive through the intersection as well as looking at it on a Google map zoomed into the intersection shows that there is an opposite striped portion of the lane that CAN be used for cars going directly across. Both sides of the intersection are basically 4 lanes across. Plus with the addition of dashed guide lines to assist motorists. this can be accomplished very easily.

John, if you look at the top of the picture you provided, there is an exclusive left turn lane into the roadway just out of the picture. As was stated earlier, you can not direct through traffic into a turn lane on the opposing approach to the intersection. The existence of the left turn lane does not permit the through lane to be realigned as you would like.

That's too bad the traffic flow won't be fixed. Maybe Mentor is making money on the people speeding down Twinbrook everyday. If not... they should start. It would probably pay for fixing the intersection! :-)
