The City of Oakland Call Center has received this issue. It is registered as service request #720802. Thank you, in advance, for your patience as we work through a backlog of pothole service requests. Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

Robo sign above is offensive as always.
In Montclair where there are wealthy homeowners, citizens took to the street and spray painted the pot holes with arrows. Media got it. Somehow this worked and the City was shamed by these white women who took it to the street, tagging the asphalt, to do their job. Wonder if that would work in the low-income blighted areas of Oakland? Why does the City require shaming to get them to act? SMH
Does the City really think Robo-signing this is effective communication with the citizens of Oakland it has a duty to serve? Who does this - a robot - or does a human actually hit "send"?
As far as I know, the City only robo-signs responses in this forum. They sometimes answer the phone at Council offices, Mayor's office, PW etc. and when confronted they provide a range of excuses as to why they cannot or will not perform the services to cure. To date, with respect to such matters, and failures to perform in general which is systemic with Oakland, the only method I have identified that gets result is public shaming in the media or other methods, or developing a tolerance for the failure whatever it may so be. We have given up on the campers, and abandoned cars for example in general, knowing that they will sit foir months, and until they catch fire/ are torched, nothing will be done.
Thank you for your request. According to our system, we already have an open service request of this kind at this location. Your request has been combined with service request #630734. If you would like to check the status of the request, please contact the Public Works Call Center at 510-615-5566 or pwacallcenter@oaklandnet.com.
