This will be added to the list of locations to be cleaned by the Sheriff's anti-graffiti crew when they begin work this season.

Could someone from the City maybe just come and paint over the word @#$% that's written in big letters on the beach side, it'd really improve the neighborhood. If that's not possible then just tell us what paint to use and we'll do it as part of the beach cleanup on the 22nd. Thanks.

Graffitti still there, doesn't the City have an obligation to clean this up? It's been almost 2 months now.

"Sec. 12-56. - Removal required; duty to maintain premises.
It shall be unlawful for any person owning, leasing, occupying, or having charge of any premises to permit, allow to remain, or fail to remove any unsightly condition commonly referred to as graffiti or any other unsightly condition from such premises.

(Code 1973, § 7-31)"

I would think that by not removing it you are also facilitating this:

"Sec. 4-3. - Obscene or indecent contents.
No person shall, within the city limits, post, paint, print or display or cause to be posted, painted, printed or displayed, upon a billboard or signboard or in any place where such may be seen from a public street or square any poster, bill, placard or other thing containing obscene or indecent language or any pictorial representation of the commission of or attempt to commit any crime, assault or breach of the peace.

(Code 1973, § 3-3)"

Two weeks later and still there. Is there really no-one from the City that can take care of this?

Additional graffiti has now appeared on the seawall. I realize that this has been added to the list to be cleaned, but this area is quickly becoming an eyesore, which is very sad. It almost seems that this area of Salem is being forgotten.
