The property owner was contacted by staff in the Planning and Development Department by letter on April 5th, 2017. If a response from the property owner is not received, follow up action will be taken via a phone call and possible involvement from Municipal Enforcement.
The property owner received the letter outlining requirements for compliance and came to City Hall to discuss the process on April 18th. The property owner will be away on vacation for the next month but will come in to start the permit process in mid-May. Staff will follow up with property owner in late May if contact has not been initiated.
Development Permit application was received on May 18th, 2017. This file will be taken to the Municipal Planning Commission (likely in June) for their review and approval/denial. Neighbouring property owners will be given the opportunity to provide feedback prior to a decision being made.
The Development Permit was approved by MPC on July 5th as the property complied with all aspects of the Land Use Bylaw. the applicant must still meet the requirements of the Building Code and if desired, the complainant may choose to appeal MPC's decision to the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board.
