Description

As occurs multiple times daily on the Madison Ave. block from Lark to Willet, commercial vehicles park wherever they want, to make deliveries. They park in designated bus stops, handicap spots and block driveways, intersections and crosswalks. They are usually there for at least 20 minutes and up to 45 minutes. Meanwhile safety issues are created for all pedistrians forced to cross outside of the crosswalk, including from in between parked cars where they are less visible, and from behind the truck where pedestrians are unable to see oncoming traffic and risk getting hit. People with shopping carts, strollers, wheelchairs and walkers also have no access to the crosswalk. And police and parking enforcement routinely drive by and do not address issues such as this, including the bus stops being blocked.
