A. Traffic Sign
Q. Additional Information
A. Is it possible to place a sign near Pershing Field warning cars and pedestrians that autistic children live in the area? Autistic children are known to be sensitive to loud sounds like car horns and other loud noises. They are also known to cross streets without being fully aware of the dangers. Summit, Manhattan and Central avenues, as well as Pershing Field Plaza, all are heavily traversed by vehicles, and all these streets surround the park, so perhaps autism signs will best be served in this area. Also, the new children's playground is at a busy section of the park; vehicles often speed down past it. Children with autism are definitely using the playground, so signs here would be beneficial. Thank you!
