It says on their website schedules will be posted online "immediately following the New Year", but doesn't mention when printed schedules will be available.
Apparently CAT thinks a week and a half is enough time for riders to plan around some major service cuts... this is poor customer service.
not to mention a lack of night service - Routes No Longer in Service:
26C Early East - See Route 1 schedule for partial coverage.
27 Southeast - See Route 5, 7 schedules for partial coverage.
28 Southwest - See Route 11 schedule for partial coverage.
29 North Night - See Route 2 schedule for partial coverage.
30 Northeast - See Route 3, 10 schedules for partial coverage.
32 Sanderford Road - See Route 5, 13, 22 schedules for partial coverage.
33 Glenwood-Creedmoor - See Route 4, 6 schedules for partial coverage.
34 Wake Med Poole Rd - See Route 15, 18 schedules for partial coverage.
35 Poole Road - See Route 18, 19 schedules for partial coverage.
36 Garner Station - See Route 7, 21 schedules for partial coverage.
37 North Hills - See Route 2, 8 schedules for partial coverage.
38 Blue Ridge - See Route 4 schedule for partial coverage.

Just as South Carolina must get U.S. Justice Department approval before making election law changes,
City of Raleigh / CAT needs to be required to get U.S. Justice Department approval before changing their bus routes so as to make sure the are not discriminating against minorities
REFJR, I wouldn't go that far. The changes are budget-neutral. There are major cuts, but there are also major gains in service.
You can't call it discrimination when the money saved from cuts is reinvested to provide additional service on other routes. It is my opinion that the gains outweigh the cuts, although some may disagree.
My only point is that the people who will be affected by the cuts, need more then 1.5 weeks to make plans (like changing there work schedule, finding someone to carpool with, or (worst-case scenario) finding a new job).
WestRaleighResident, huge chunks of Raleigh lose bus service due to the deletions of night connector routes:
(like 29c North Night - in this case New Hope Church Rd, Green Rd, Millbrook Rd, Atlantic Av, Spring Forest Rd, Strictland Rd,
Millbrook Rd all lose evening CAT service - Minorities going back home in south Raleigh from their jobs in North Raleigh)
Anyways, I am documenting the pre change CAT route info (saving the html & pdf files) from http://www.raleighnc.gov/home/content/PWksTransit/Articles/CATBusRoutes.html in case anyone needs proof that the CAT route changes caused them to lose a job,
and they want to file a lawsuit against the City of Raleigh / CAT
REFJR. While huge chunks of Raleigh will lose bus service at night (North Hills will too)... other areas will have improved service (running regular routes - like 2, 5, 7, and 15 - on Nights and Sundays will make the service simpler, more direct/quicker, and more reliable).
You can't say this is discriminatory, because it will help many CAT bus riders too (most of whom are minorities). The changes are trade-offs and the debate over whether the changes are worth implementing has already been decided.
The only thing that must be done now (and should have been done a month ago) is to properly inform CAT bus riders.
and having a full bus is better than no bus at all
(that is what CAT has done, deleted routes so other people on more popular routes can be a little more comfortable)
Instead what the City of Raleigh needs to do is request permission to implement a $1/gallon gas tax
and a $10 per $1,000 value vehicle property tax in the City of Raleigh to fund a CAT system expantion
The City of Raleigh still needs an additional gas tax and a vehicle property tax to fund a CAT system expansion
($2 per gallon would not only fund a CAT system expansion, but it would also reduce emissions as it would encourage
more use of the CAT bus system)
Wow at SCK is a stupid waste of time. Perhaps you should have voiced your opinion at one of the many, many transportation meetings that were scheduled at many different locations. Also, if you pay attention the changes the time changes for most routes that were eliminated still run under the daytime route number.
I agree with Alison, it's crazy to see how bent out of shape people get when they could had plenty of time to share their opinions. I have used the web to look at transit changes and the bus drivers have been very friendly in passing out schedule change information to boarding passengers.
The cuts are worse then I thought, people who work very early or late will be out of a job. Hopefully these changes help more people then they hurt, but CAT needs additional early and late runs on most routes.

if anyone loses a job because of these CAT service cuts:
I RECOMMEND THEIR FILING A DISCRIMINATION LAWSUIT IN FEDERAL COURT
AGAINST THE CITY OF RALEIGH AS THIS AFFECTS MOSTLY MINORITIES (BLACKS) !!!!!
Because CAT uses federal transportation money, they must follow federal law
