This was reported on the 11th of April and it is now the 28th which means 17 days have passed when there might have been a fire. What has been the result of the investigation being done by 'zoning', though I don't know why you sent the complaint to them when it is a fire safety issue......and if you plan to visit the address it's best to do it without calling and notifying the owner beforehand. When he's being inspected he takes the truck out of the driveway, as well as the rope connecting the garbage cans and puts the cans alongside his house. This keeps getting sent to zoning where they never come out to look but simply check their records. I don't want to hear from zoning. I want the fire department to check this out. It's their domain.....fire safety issues, no? And this case cannot be closed until you give me an answer as to how this driveway is legal in 2017 by 2017 standards of safety and how do you expect anyone to escape a fire when it's blocked like this 24/7......unless he knows he's being inspected. It doesn't really matter to the current tenants that this was a legal driveway in the 1980-90s when the owner was a contractor paying off all his friends to get what he wanted. I thought that sort of situation didn't occur in our City's NEW administration under Mayor Fulop. His election got rids of the so-called 'political machine' I was told. I will keep reporting this until there is a fire or until the fire department includes this in their inspection. When there is a fire and there are deaths this will document that you were told.
