AS PER INSPECTOR JL, THIS IS PRIVATE PROPERTY NOW AS IT WAS SOLD BACK.

I checked with Port Authority - they claim that it is co-owned by them and Jersey City. Post Authority is responsible to maintain the portion along Washington Street. But Jersey City is responsible to maintain the areas adjacent to the exterior of the building, within all those cement barrier fences and chain link fences on Bay, Greene Street and the Light Rain Tracks. Who do you think owns the property?

Are there tax records showing the owner's name? This owner must clean and secure it's property. The city is definitely responsible to clean the sidewalks and curbs, as well as care the the many tree pits.

This should remain open until the work is done.

Some how the act of replacing the fallen fences with new (ugly) chainlink fences is happening. WHO is doing this??!! we'd all like to know, to send a thank you letter.

If they can remove all the trash/weeds before closing it up - including the trash that's on the other side of the concrete/chainlink fences close to the actual brick structure, pull out all the weeds and a fresh layer of gravel. That would be better looking. IF it could become a green space while the city waits for someone to rehab it.

As per Inspector Lipari, 80 Bay Street is the correct address. This property is owned and maintained by the City of Jersey City. Until this lot is completely cleaned and graffiti cleaned off the cargo container, sign remade sidewalks clear of rubble, curbs clear of wood and gravel. Then we can request that all the tree pits get trees planted. Far from being closed. But glad we worked out who will do the work.

Kathryn, where is the graffiti on the cargo container? I would like to also bring this matter to the Division of Neighborhood Improvement's attention. Their graffiti removal team may be able to attend to this as long as the container is City owned.

Shipping Container is empty, other than trash stowed in it and unlocked. Covered in graffiti.

Powerhouse Stabilization sign should be remade to note current administration - a showing of pride and ownership that this project has not been killed - but in progress.

Not done yet - still need to clear trash pn north side of building as well as north east side outside of the fences.

Surely whoever attended the site can see all the issues here and take some more proactive steps to resolve? The city should be ashamed with the lethargy and contempt shown here. Such an eyesore and nobody seems to care?
