Description
The ditch was partially dug out a few years ago, but needs to be dug out from Robinwood to Cottontail. There is standing water and it floods into our yard, making it impossible to mow until July! It is worst near the telephone pole across from Lamplighter Drive, but really need the entire ditch dug out. Thank you!

I was able to mow my entire lawn for the first time yesterday, June 24, due to the flooding from the ditch. I would like to thank you for your help. I would like to thank you, that is, but I can't, as you have not done anything yet. The ditch, or rather lack of a ditch has been a problem for a couple years now, and I would appreciate having it dug out, as there is virtually no ditch left.
I also went out today and cut down all the weeds in the ditch, aside from a small section that the road commission cut down a week or two ago. This was the first time in the fourteen years that I have lived here that I had to cut down the weeds. The road commission has always done this before. It's sad that I, a 60 year old man with an electric hedge trimmer, had to cut down about 700 feet of ditch weeds by hand, instead of the road crew with appropriate machinery! My guess is part of the reason is that the weeds are slowly growing into our yard and out of reach of your mower, because the ditch is disappearing.
Here's an idea: why don't you dig out the ditch? That way the weeds won't grow into our yard, so when you mow along the street you will be able to mow ALL the weeds! And, our yard won't flood as much, so I can mow it before the grass gets to be three feet high! It's win-win: the ditch gets dug, and the weeds don't grow so high as to block the view of traffic when pulling out of the side street.
I appreciate that you have acknowledged the problem... almost 2 months ago... but how about some action?

The road that you are referring to is classified as a local road. The amount of state funding allocated towards local roads is often not even enough to fund winter maintenance, pothole filling and road grading
If WCRC wants to make a local road improvement beyond routine maintenance (such as a bridge replacement, ditching and forestry, or road resurfacing), the project’s funding must be matched by a source other than WCRC, typically a township.
For a list of current projects on local roads please see our project list at http://www.wcroads.org/road-work-construction/projects/
If you don't see the road you are looking for on this list and would like to suggest future improvements, please contact your township directly.
