Ever since the parking spaces on 4th Av S have been turned on an angle it is very difficult to enter this intersection when driving on 5th St going north. (Our parking garage exits onto Delmar Terr so we drive this route several times a day). when the parking spaces on the south side of 4th Av S are full you absolutely cannot see the traffic coming down 4th Av until you are out in the intersection! Maybe not a stop light but a Stop Sign would really help. I've had close calls on several occasions.

Department staff have reviewed crashes and determined that there have been no reported crashes at this intersection either before or after the angled parking was installed in late 2014. Sightlines were also reviewed and determined to be adequate, after you stop to make sure there are no pedestrians crossing and move forward to the edge of the travel lane per State Statute.
This intersection is similar to many intersections in the downtown with on-street parking and the City is working to have intersection bull-bouts construction at them all, to help regulate both vehicle and pedestrian traffic more safely. Until this infrastructure can be funded / programmed we continue to monitor and implement appropriate engineering and enforcement as required.
