Engineering inspectors made a site visit and the entire curb-line was dry

At this time there is not a simple solution to address the ponding concerns in this area. However we are still researching to try and find a simple solution since this roadway is newly resurfaced and we will not be rebuilding the roadway to address this minor temporary ponding. The trees along W. Venice Ave. are the cause of the several high points along the gutter line, which does lead to the ponding. These trees are protected and a great asset to the community. This is a very common issue around the City of Venice where ponding occurs outside of travel lanes, in parking areas, after rain events. As roadways are improved and replaced around the city we try to improve the drainage situations wherever feasible. The last roadwork in this area was a resurfacing not a replacement; and the drainage was improved as much as possible within the constraints of the project. Further improvements to the drainage situation will definitely be looked at when the entire roadway, and curb-line, are replaced in the future along W. Venice Ave.
