Dixie Highway/Oakland Avenue and Kennett, it's all the same. You still sit forever, I did it yesterday, nothing has changed. thought about just going ahead and turning because there was no traffic coming! If you look up on the pole in front of the storage business, there's a camera. Wasn't sure if I wanted a ticket or not so MDOT, please fix this thing. I'm getting tired of waiting and so is everyone else. Other complaints was Dixie. I didn't think it became Dixie until Telegrah.

The Road Commission for Oakland County maintains the signal at Kennett and Dixie Highway on behalf of the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), which owns the signal.

The timing is set as it is because there is far more trafffic on Dixie than on Kennett. Obviously, there will be times when there is less traffic on Dixie, and the Kennett traffic will have to wait a little while, but increasing the time for Kennett would be too disruptive to the heavy traffic on Dixie on most occasions (and thus would increase the congestion and the potential for traffic crashes on Dixie).

i know for a fact, there were times when that arrow used to blink in the slower parts of the day. i understand why the lights are longer for the road that gets the most traffic but Dixie/Oakland is not rush hour all day. Blink, blink, blink, thank you

Our traffic engineers note that if the signal went to flash mode, there would never be times when the Dixe Traffic had to come to a stop, and therefore, during busy times, it would be even more difficult for the side street traffic to enter Dixe.

Also, the Road Commission, in conjunction with MDOT, has been reviewing the signal timings along the Dixe Corridor for the last six months, and we expect to introduce some new timings in the next couple of weeks or so that should help -- they will reduce the wait time for some of the side streets.

no that red light is still too long when you want to make a turn. i catch myself sitting there looking around thinking, "they are sitting there somewhere looking at us and laughing" at us for waiting for this idiot arrow and there's no traffic coming our way. alot of people just go ahead and turn. i can go all the way down to Sarasota and cut back up to Kennett just in time to see the first car that was in line waiting at the light to turn. we told you, you know the problem so we art waiting for you to put your solution to work. until then, this case is still open.

Change the run time...During busy traffic times let it run normal, between 8pm & 5am make it a 3 way flashing light.

I understand this is fixed
