Good observation. This needs to be fixed. A length of stone curbing should take care of it. It's located near a garden bed near the Sundial Sprinkler on the upper Park Road.
I live near Monitor Park and Edgewood Park, on the Mall. In the past couple of years I've complained on numerous occasions about deteriorating situations in all three public areas. Not once has any of those situations be rectified. Not once has anyone in the City responded to those complaints on this forum. At best I received the boilerplate: "We have received your complaint..." It reminds me of the old cartoon of a Suggestion Box, hanging on a wall, and underneath it sits a waste paper basket. Guess what? The box has no bottom, so any complaints put in the top fall straight into the trash. I'm thinking of quitting this. The notices I get may be about my neighborhood but it's just us grousing to each other. I'll wait until after the mayoral election. Maybe the next administration will realize how important it is to heed the voices of the people who actually care about public conditions in the place we live.
This drain has not been repaired. It is a hazard. It's located between the Sundial Sprinkler and the Spanish-American War Marine statue, adjacent to a lower garden on the Park Road.
