The Town is planning a redesign of Main Street from North Ave to the corner of Pond or Common. The Transportation Advisory Committee, Town staff and a consultant are likely to consider the traffic pattern at Pond and South Main when this gets underway. This design process has been funded by Town Meeting. There is not currently a timetable.

You may want to write to the Selectmen, or attend a meeting and raise the issue at Citizen's Concerns. The Safety Committee could also look at this (they may already have done so) and make a recommendation after studying the alternatives and the impacts.

Writing as a town volunteer, I don't think repeated posting here is going to create the capacity to make this happen faster. The change you want is not something that can happen just by commenting on See Click Fix. There are a number of transportation issues in the town center that need attention. That doesn't mean that this is not important.

Natick Taxpayer, nothing has changed in how Natick cares for its residents. This town has always done so. I just decided to write after it became clear you didn't know how to start fixing this.

You're not a customer, you're invested in solving problems if you want to participate. Citizenship matters.

After speaking with Lieutenant Lauzon of the Police Dept., he will make a suggestion to the Safety Committee for a traffic study of the area surrounding Pond St. To make any change they would need to understand the problem as it is today, any repercussion with the change of traffic flow (what streets and neighborhoods it would affect) and then determine what action, if any needs to happen. He would suggest you take you concern to the Safety Committee so they hear from the residents/businesses this is affecting. Thank you SO much. I am SO happy that we are starting to take a step in the right direction, as I have never seen such a dangerous left turn in my life. Just a few minutes ago :( I was taking a right turn, from West Central Street, onto North Main Street, southbound, safely traveling at around 15 mph.

Out of nowhere, a pickup truck cuts in front taking the left, forcing me to jam on my brakes.

Startled and frustrated, I of course beeped at the reckless driver for several seconds. This also caused several patrons at the cafe on the corner there to get startled as well.

Every other left turn I have seen in my life, people wait their turn. This one, they just pray, say to themselves "please can I make this turn" and just go....

and when someone like me is taking that right turn and they legit cut in front of you out of nowhere, it is so, so dangerous.

There are several other instances in which this is a terrible spot -

Another is when someone is trying to take a left from pond street, onto north main street southbound, but because taking the left is so ridiculously hard, they sometimes have to wait for legit several minutes.

I am so so so happy that things are moving in the right direction. No time to get on the safety committee and this is also a one time issue. Besides this critical issues, Natick is a safe and lovely town and this forum seems to be working great.

Multiple times I’ve almost been hit crossing this intersection as a pedestrian. Any update on this?

Agreeing that SeeClickFix is not the best way for this issue to get attention. This is something you should write to the city about, or bring up at a town meeting. But I agree - that intersection is awful. I'm no engineer, but it might even help to have a "No Gridlock" crosshatch painted onto the area.

Hi there, any update on this potentially life life threatening turn? It is so dangerous and scary. I just saw a car desperately try to take a left from Pont St. to Route 27, and the car coming soutbound had to jam on the breaks and weave around the car. It is such a dangerous left turn, makes no sense that cars can turn left. Should be a "Right Turn Only" spot - they can even take the quick left and circle around the common. Please Fix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will be following up - Concerned Natick Taxpayer
