Description
Two places where tires have been dumped in East Rock Park over the guard rail along Farnam Drive. Each dump is 20-25 tires. One is about 100 yards north of the pedestrian crosswalk and the other is about 100 yards south. I'm certain the southern site is recent, probably on Saturday May 20. Less certain about the northern site.
Somebody seems to be regularly dumping 20-25 tires at a time along this stretch of Farnam Drive. It happens every couple of months.

These too-frequent incidents of illegal dumping are indeed INFURIATING!
Many of us have been saying it but the city needs to take this issue more seriously.
We are enabling and normalizing lawlessness: isn't it a no-brainer that this then spills over into other more “serious” lawlessness in our city?
(I feel the same way about our poor enforcement of traffic laws.)
No one has yet answered my repeated inquiries as to whether or not there are unique serial numbers that can be traced on these tires.
This also seems to be a recurring dump location and thus a great place to mount a camera and keep it there long term.
I suggest we all call Mayor Harp’s office and the new Police Chief’s office and push them on this.
Spread the word.

And an extension of allowing fires to be used in College Woods on the "grass" areas rather than limiting them to the pits/grills near the Ranger's bldg and pavilion. And an extension of allowing vehicles in the College Woods area - the cars cause the little grass there is to be singed.
Parks should be for everyone to use; the regulations and rules should be for all to obey.
