Description

For many years, Regent Street has had a problem with persistent ponding, which occurs on both sides of the street next to the sidewalks, especially on the even numbered side. Every time it rains, large deep puddles form, deep enough that it takes a week or more for them to dry out. We call them "zika ponds", because they are deep enough and last long enough to provide a breeding ground for mosquitos. They also collect garbage and bits of debris and smell bad. Is there a plan for fixing them? They are very likely a health hazard.
