I called Stop & Shop yesterday morning to let them know that their cart is abandoned in the middle of the intersection between Harvard street and Holbrook road. It is still there this morning, and as I was walking my dog at 5 AM, their hired pick-up person drove right past it and never stopped to look for it or pick it up. The Stop & Shop told me previously that their hired company (the pick-up) goes around every morning find these carts. But apparently, he is not doing his job correctly or carefully. Given that the store makes so much money from the people who live in the surrounding neighborhoods, I am shocked at how cheap they are in solving this abandoned cart issue. They need to install locks on these carts, and police their own property better. It's a real blight to the neighborhood. Someone will drive right into this cart and perhaps a law suit will finally wake them up. Please let the company know that this situation is unacceptable.
