Description
Please fix sidewalk gravel overwash issues on Monte Sano Blvd from Mae Drive to Carrol Circle. In front of the fire station there is gravel overwash that is 3-4 inches thick on the sidewalk in one place. The overwash has only gotten worse as more water runs down the sidewalks and road from the new subdivision diverting water that direction. This has been an issue for years, gravel overwashing, but it is getting worse. It is also an issue all along the Blvd. in front of Monte Sano Elementary, there it is mainly due to cars pulling off for school pickup and dragging gravel over into the sidewalk. It would be great if a permanent fix or barrier to the sidewalk could be made on the road side of the sidewalk to stop this problem. We need the city engineering dept to solve this! When gravel builds up it makes for unsafe sidewalks for bikers and walkers of all ages. We have someone at our house full of gravel along one side of their body after wiping out on this section of sidewalk yesterday, never suspecting the gravel was that deep and would grab their tires so suddenly. This is dangerous and this section of highly used sidewalk in front of the fire station and school in this neighborhood deserves and is overdue for some taxpayer money for TLC and a long term solution by the city that will stop the issue!
