Description
Several times a day, every day, there are cars that speed excessively down Pacific Ave. They go so fast and so loud that it frightens my children, even when we are inside our home. I'm talking 60-80 mph or more. In light of the recent accident which has claimed 2 lives due to speeding right around the corner, I suggest the city install several speed bumps on Pacific Ave. between Oak and at least Walnut, it may be necessary for them to be installed up to Grand St.. Hopefully this will prevent further deaths from speeding in our city.

I would like to consider speeding cameras. Some are offered completely free as the company makes a cut and it helps actually generate money to the city, in addition to saving lives. Let's not wait for accidents to happen or people to protest to do something about it.
Heck who's in to put $50 to a community pot to calm in traffic? are really 4 stops signs more expensive than 2 lives??

Thank you for your request to help make Alameda’s transportation infrastructure as safe and efficient as possible. Your suggestion will be included in the annual review of locations where traffic calming measures may be implemented. Public Works, Alameda Police, and the City’s Transportation Planning Unit prioritize improvements based a location’s history of collisions, police citations, its relationship with existing transportation plans and improvements, cost of the improvement given budget constraints, and suggestions from members of the public, such as yours.
