Description

The Westside residential neighborhood is being used as a short cut to and from Route 216 and the Maple Lawn Commercial District. Drivers of both commercial trucks and personal vehicles are using Westside Boulevard to avoid traffic congestion along Maple Lawn Blvd between Market Street, East Market Place and the traffic circle at Route 216. These drivers are not stopping at the 2-way stop signs. These drivers are not yielding for pedestrians in the crosswalks or kids on bicycles. These drivers are not yielding in the traffic circle at Westside Boulevard and East Market Place. The Westside residential area includes over 50 kids. This must be addressed before someone gets hurt or killed by speeding and inattention at cross walks. The neighbors in Westside request a 4-Way stop sign and/or traffic calming at the following intersections:
1. Westside Boulevard and Market Street
2. Westside Boulevard and Terrace Lane
