This is at the intersection of Rt108 and Isinglass rd, which there was a fatalaty a few months ago. There are several factors- there is a crest in the road when traveling south on 108 which affects the veiw of intersecting traffic, when traveling north there is a curve which also prevents your veiw, Isinglass Rd is intersecting Rt 108 at an angle and there is another road(Cardinal) which sort of makes it a "5 way". As I said, why would there be a flashing sign indicating a dangerous intersection in one direction(north) and not one in the southbound direction? That makes absolutley no sense. Many locals say they look both ways the best they can, hit the gas, and hope they make it through ok.

The DOT has refused to install a light here, OK fine. But I love how the Shelton Police Chief did not ask to install a 4 way stop sign, nor does he remember if it even came up in a one hour talk with the DOT. He cannot even remember the name of the person he spoke with at the DOT...great work! He told the Alderman he did not ask the DOT about the stop sign becuase no one asked for one, they asked for a light. "They specifcally asked for a traffic light. I don't remember anyone asking for a traffic sign"
So becuase no one asked for a "sign" they just push it aside and move on. Since when do they listen to us anyway? Why don't they say, Ok, maybe a light is not appropriate, but let's look at some other options, flashing lights, signs, regrading/straightening the road, the list goes on. But to say NO light and end it looks pretty bad on both the Police Dept and the DOT.
