I lived in Charter Oaks back in the 80's & Charter Oaks Blvd was terrible then. Happened to go through there a couple of months ago & couldn't believe how bad it was. I don't think that road has ever been fixed properly. The patching job is literally the worst I have ever seen.

This road has far outlived the 20 year expected lifespan of a local subdivision road. It is the policy of the Road Commission of Macomb County Board that reconstruction of local subdivision roads are 100% the responsibility of the township. The current economic situation as it is and funding already running thin, the township would most likely only be able to offer the option of a Special Assessment District where homeowners pay for the reconstruction based on the property owned on the road. Your township should have information available on setting up a special assessment for you to review. We have met with the residents regarding this in the past to explain this process as well.

We have huge trucks (18 wheelers) using this road now that 16 mile is under construction as well as people trying to avoid the tie ups on 16 mile rd. Our road is not only a mess with huge potholes and patches on top of patches, but it is dangerous to any person riding a bike in the street, due to huge crevasses! Not only that, but we have busses going to and from the Middle school (Algonquin) that erode the street further! I think that the road commission needs to address this problem! Because of the economy, many of the residents in our community are renters and we have many empty units from people just leaving in the middle of the night. There is no way that this community can afford to fix this street!!

A special assessment billed to Charter Oaks Co-op and Fox Chase condos is unfair. Add to the list the adjoining subdivision which includes a public school. Their only acess is Charter Oaks Blvd. Then add in the condo complex by the railroad tracks. Again their only acess is Charter Oaks Blvd. Then add Peachtree Apartments to the list along with Rudgate Mobile Home Park. The Groesbeck/16 Miles intersection is busy 24 hours a day. Charter Oaks Blvd is a major road for this corner of Clinton Township. The Macomb Country road commission needs to come up with another way to help the residents suffering in this area. Who in the world would buy a home in this area?

I agree with above, there are many more people that use this road who would never be included in any assessment district. Would they tax Peachtree? Rudgate? What about Chippewa Valley schools, whose buses to/from algonquin run 9 months of the year? This road has been a mess for since the 80's

is there a lawyer in the house! this abomination that goes for a road is a disgrace and is nothing more than a "legal" form of vandalism to the tax paying residents cars.One look at this "road would make any rational person ,not politician however,utterly furious.I bet no politician who would be responsible for this in any way lives anywhere near this outrage. you ought to be ashamed.
