Staff will investigate

This is an issue that we've been trying to resolve for over 15 years. And it keeps getting worse. I suggest a meeting between the City Engineer, at least 2 members of the City Council, the Bellevue Avenue Neighborhood Association (I am on the Board), the Save Our Streetscapes Committee and maybe the Preservation Society. I believe that if the City Council truly understood the deplorable condition of the Bellevue Avenue sidewalks, it would accelerate a resolution. Mothers push baby carriages in the street to avoid using the sidewalks, wheelchairs ride in the street, joggers run in the road, pedestrians walk in the road, people have tripped and fallen, pedestrians are discouraged from walking, tourists must think we don't care about their comfort and convenience. This is truly a safety issue as well as a perception issue and as mentioned, certainly violates ADA.
