Description
Street sweeping signs (3) were removed from 2100 block of San Jose Ave - even side. Resident wants to know if they are going to be replaced? and why they were removed? The removal of these signs has impacted this area by due to sweeper not being able to do a good sweep with cars parked.

We've reviewed our records and found that in 1995, the street sweeping signs were removed from the even side of the 2100 block of San Jose Avenue. The absence of signs is confirmed with our street sweeping schedule database (updated no later than July 2007). There are no records showing why they were removed.
If you'd like us to review the re-installation of those signs, I can be reached at 747-7946 or by email at ata@alamedaca.gov. And we can discuss how to move forward with that request.
Over our phone conversation, you asked whether you would be cited if you parked there during street sweeping hours. There are no signs prohibiting parking. So, no you would not be cited. I will reassign this case to the Police Department to confirm whether you would get a ticket.
