Well I guess I can't take my kids there. They will "NOT" go into a pool if they can not stand up in it. They do not like floats, are floats or anything else. They like to be able to stand and play. I look at Eastlake as just being a jimmie rigged city. Everything has been done to the most basic and cheapest as possible. Both my boys are not even 4' yet. Oh well. Willowick, here we come.

If your kids are that small, little pools can be bought at TOys r us cheaper than visiting any pool in any city....go get one!

That pool update is a freakin' joke....they took out the underwater lights, so no evening pool parties which means lost revenue. no 0 depth entry, so anyone with kids under 5 will not utilize which means lost revenue. the 1/2 million dollars to "upgrade" doesn't include any fixes to the exterior of the crumbling building, but oh they did put $25000 last year into new bathroom stalls. Hmm, $5 per day to swim there or $5 per day to swim in a Willoughby pool...I know where I'm going and it's not on E. 337th.

What an absolute travesty. Eastlake has been on the brink of the abyss for years, with nothing to offer young families moving in. I remember when the youth football and baseball programs had enough players to stay in the city and play amongst ourselves. Now, they must travel to outside cities, sometimes as far as Perry, in order to have a good rotation. I really expected Eastlake would build another Willoughby Osborne pool for our children. Instead, we get the equivalent of a cement pond; literally! ...and, no lights; WTF???!!!

Fixed although not satisfactorily.

The kiddie pool was on the same pump as the main and was not up to Ohio code. it had nothing to do with Eastlake. they do have night swims and the lights around the pool provide great light. Wickliffe pool was over 60 years old and they put the money into it and our pool was in far better shape. I suggest you go to a committee meeting,..or council meetings to hear all the facts. They offer water aerobics, pool rental, swimming lessons, and swimteam, ask questions...get real answers.. then decide if you want to put your money into another city. this is the ONLY city paid recreation so we make the best of it..
