Deskripsyon

The electric pole at the corner of Gordon and Arlington has been cracked for some time. I have reported it a couple times already. At this point the pole looks like it could come down at all time. Because it is next to one of the few play areas for children on this side of 135, I worry that it will fall and injure someone. I know Framingham doesn't care about this side of town, but maybe the town will do something before a child is injured.

This is a photo of the cracked pole. It is cracked at the bolt from the original pole (double poles are such a disaster down town) and you can see the wood that has continued splitting and the change in angle as the pole leans further toward the side.

Thank you for reporting this! There are many poles that need to be addressed as imminent hazards. I will contact the DPW about this, too.

This appears to be a Verizon pole, therefore this pole is out of our jurisdiction. I have contacted Verizon to alert them of this issue in hopes that they come out and fix it as soon as possible. Also, the number of pole maintenance at Verizon is 1-800-837-4966.

As an update: Verizon emailed me back and said it looks like it's going to require a joint effort between Verizon and Eversource due to the electrical infrastructure of the pole, so they are going to reach out to Eversource and schedule a date to take care of the issue.

Thanks Sean, I have read up on this issue and I know it is time-consuming and complex with the wire transfers between companies and the current legislative push for home rule control. I am also going to call Eversouce/Verizon about this pole photo at Franklin and Park (Greater Framingham Comm Church). I appreciate the fast turn-around. It means a lot to the community, as it is perceived as scary!
