Additional information - most roads in this area have speed limits lower than 45 mph - Greenville Loop, Holly Tree, Masonboro, etc all are less. While there are no homes at the golf course, there are thousands of pedestrian crossing per year. City golf course data shows in FY07 54,000 rounds played, FY08 49,593 rounds, and FY09 50,619 rounds. It takes 4 road crossings to play each round. That means over 200,000(!) road crossings per year, every year, in an uncontrolled area with traffic at 45 mph. If traffic can't be slowed down, at least construct pedestrian refuges in the road like on Lake Avenue at Roland Grise, just make them large enough to give refuge to a golf cart.
