A response would be courteous. Simply ignoring the issues of a tax payer is rude.

So, as a representative of the mayor's office, you might consider an answer something like this..'the mayor and the city are considering several options to reduce costs for tax paying citizens so they can utilize the many beautiful parks in the city. ' other cities charge different rates for residents and non-residents, perhaps Bridgeport could do the same. 6,000 in taxes per year is enough to pay, residents should not have to pay extra to access the parks in the PARK city.

Thank you for reporting your issue to the City of Bridgeport. The Mayor does not set the fees for park stickers. That decision is made in conjunction between the Parks Commission and the City Council. I would advise you to either contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 203-576-7233 or your two City Council Reps. Mayors Office 2 and Roadway Official 5 seem to be the rudest. Roadway Official 5 literally kept closing my issue every couple of hours once and eventually gave up because I kept reopening it. All of this just to get my street swept... sad and pathetic. And before that, Mayors Office 2 said that I have to "wait my turn." You don't say that to a tax payer! EVER! City officials better check their attitude, and as taxpayers, we should be able to fire them for the disrespect.

Omg I love these comments. Just imagine what they get paid to do this! They aren't even nice. It's like we are a bother. Never mind I don't even get a response. My issue is with a bar and a city lot never mind a street sweep. I do my own sweeping. I swear I'm going downtown to see if I have a paycheck waiting. Have you tried to call the maintenance dept?? The guy was down right nasty because I called and they were going to lunch. Still waiting!! Called city clerk about city own lot I was told the city owns to many properties I would have to use a city map and then make a complaint Still waiting! I thought that when Ganim was elected things would change. They have not. I wrote ten complaints over a period of two months demanding that the city sweep this street. After a little bit of an argument, I got the response I wanted, and finally the city swept the street, not just once, but twice. I agree that we shouldn't pay $15 for seaside, which is why I don't even go to seaside anymore. It's a bad area too. And there aren't enough police to keep things under control, I mean in seaside there's lots of security but I'd like to also see more police out on the streets. To keep traffic under control and ticket those who break the law. For the massive property tax rates which are paid by Bridgeport residents, I would expect more police officers and for ALL streets to be paved, and swept WEEKLY. NOT EVERY TWO YEARS! And I also expect free parks. And no I am not asking too much. Either do that, or lower taxes. For the services we actually receive, we should pay less than half of what we currently pay. But who's going to listen? Does the entire city need to retaliate? And then they still wouldn't listen.

Same here. I volunteered for his campaign and gave up many evenings after work to do what i could to assist. Since then? Phone calls asking me if l will be attending fundraisers. No, i wont be attending. I cant afford to pay 250 dollars and frankly the fact that he is considering running for governor is a slap in the face to the people here that rallied for him and gave him a second chance here.
The people thst work for the city should consider the fact that they work for the citizens and tax payers and if they dont like having to be responsive they shuld consider another line of work. Theyre called public servants for a reason.
A few other points..regarding the police. Theyre understaffed and frankly put at risk daily because of this. When our city was festured on Live PD their talent for their jobs, their brvery and their compassion was showcased for all to see. The response of the city was to pull the plug so that people outside the city wouldn't see actual crime? How about letting them see that the police here work their tails off to keep people safe?!

Now onto AGI fire..where is the 200k that the city received from the state to tear down the building years ago? Why were city employees on the nees talking about how property owners should be responsible for such situations when the CITY HAS OWNED THE PROPERTY FOR YEARS and has done nothing about it?
What about Remington and the fact that Dinardo has done nothing except put the lives of firefighter's at risk every time it burns?

Ill reopen this just to be sure someone reads it but rest assured it will be closed again soon Im sure. And by the way, Mayors's office 2...i wouldnt post my phone numbr on an open app, and the suggestion that i do so is plain silly.
