We have checked this signal at multiple times of day and it appears to be operating properly. The Dunwoody Club Drive side gets a minimum of 5 seconds of green time when it comes on and extends based on how many vehicles are detected. The maximum green time is between 20 and 35 seconds based on time of day. We understand that there are certain times of day where it may take more than one cycle to get through but this is a function of total peak demand in the area. If serious problems are seen please let us know when and be more specific than "all times of day" we will check the demand to determine what maximum times are needed to optimize traffic at the entire intersection on an hourly basis.

To be clear I'm not complaining that I can't get through the light on one cycle, I wanted to point out that sometimes it takes multiple cycles, with the light green for what seems like less than 5 seconds, and while sitting at that long red light seeing hardly any cars going by on Mt. Vernon. I appreciate your addressing this, thanks.

In my opinion it seems to be working fine. Sometimes volume of traffic causes people to be impatient with the signal cycle but that's just the way it is. Not sure why anyone would expect to get thru a light on one cycle when traffic is heavy. Relax and wait your turn or find an alternate route.

Thanks Ricky. Perhaps I'm not making myself fully clear -- I am not "impatient", I am saying that there is traffic flow through the intersection from two streets (Dun Club and Mt. Vernon) and sometimes the traffic volume is heavy coming up Dun Club but NOT on Mt. Vernon, yet the light gives Dun Club an incredibly short green while giving Mt. Vernon a very long green, such that traffic waiting on Dun Club at a red can watch as NO cars go by on Mt. Vernon that has the green. I'm NOT complaining about the amount of traffic volume, I'm talking about better matching the light timing to the traffic flow. In any event it appears the City has addressed this issue, so thank you to CofD for responding to the issue!
