I spoke with a Public Works Supervisor about your report. He explained that the containers used to transport and store the flags from the Boulevard, have never been used for trash and are in clean condition. Their only purpose is to hold the numerous flags upright and store them safely.

I suspect the decision maker never stood on a C-130 Hercules filled with flag-drapped coffins returning to the US. We are very much a tourist point with lots of visitors. Is this the image we want to display -- our US Flag rolled up and stuffed into a CLEAN, 55 gallon Brute trash can?

I will happily -- for free -- offer my consultant services to find a way for the city to transport flags respectfully. And if money is an issue .. I will lead the charge to raise contributions for a proper container.
