I see these cars fly into Ascot court often. A couple of years ago I asked if a bigger arrow can be put into a more strategic place so cars can see where the road turns. Nothing ever happened. The problem has gotten worse and I worry about the children who play on the street. Please do something about this issue. Cars have already been damaged and at some point a person could get seriously injured.

I also live on Ascot Court, and notice the many drivers- day and night- who drive fast into the cul-de-sac only to realize they have gone the wrong way. Some slowly turn around, a little embarrassed at having made a wrong turn, some back out (which is dangerous- few people are really good at driving in reverse) and otherstry to whip fast u-turns to get out of there fast and back on their way.

They all cause a hazard and have come close to hitting neighbors as well as causing damage to cars and property.

I agree with Beth, that having the striping re done on the road would help immensely- as well as improved lighting. I drive down Ascot myself at night, and often understand why those who are unfarmiliar with the road would have trouble.

These are not big fixes, and they will help to alleviate what could be a very tragic incident.

My garage door and my car, parked inside the garage at the time, were 'totaled' by a vehicle that missed the left curve of Ascot Drive and instead drove onto our property at the end of Ascot Court. The driver did not realize he had exited the main road and he said he could not see that he was at the end of a road until it was too late to stop.

On another occasion a vehicle smashed into a large tree to the right of our property at the end of Ascot Court, which appeared to be the only thing that prevented the vehicle from crashing into our house.

I see cars stop at different points in the the cul-de-sac, make a u-turn and exit the court because the driver obviously did not intend to exit Ascot Drive.

This is especially dangerous during our winter low-lying fog. Restripe and Bots Dots it.

This is the second time someone has smashed into our car and left without leaving a note. Re-painting the yellow line on Ascot Drive and adding reflectors to show the road continues downhill and not into the court would be effective along with better lighting. People obviously don't look at the arrow sign judging by the number of cars entering and making U-turns to exit immediately literally every day. Because Ascot Drive is fairly wide through this area, drivers tend to be going way too fast and enter Ascot Court at a high rate of speed before slamming on their breaks when they realize the road ends with cars, people, homes and animals in their way. Smashing into cars, houses and the horrific possibility of a pedestrian should not be the items slowing these drivers down...

Yes,Yes,Yes-this needs to be fixed; it's easy to see how driving down Ascot Dr one could go into Ascot Court. If we had signage on Ascot drive on the right side of the road before Ascot Ct indicating the road turns to the left and Ascot Ct is a non through street...then the possibility of accidents would be greatly reduced. Thanks to Beth for getting this started!

This is an issue, re-striping the street, and maybe somehow marking the edge of Ascot Drive to help guide drivers around the curve would help. Would hate to see an accident involving a pedestrian (up to now have involved property).

This has been open since early July 2017. Any progress?
Even better signage would help. Please update the status of this report.

I would also like to hear what and when will something be done about this.

I did receive an acknowledgement from the city (finally). It seems that any road restriping must wait until the sewer work is completed (sensible plan). However, we still don't know whether any better signage is going to be put in place. The current arrow sign is partially blocked by shrubbery and is frequently totally blocked by parked cars. In addition, the sign is in the wrong location. It should be on the right side of the cul de sac as cars come down the hill.
