There was a private vehicle stopped obstructing the protected cycle track on Ames St in front of the Starbucks. I stopped to ask the driver to move, he replied "I'm just waiting for someone". Fortunately at that point a police officer sitting outside at Starbucks saw the interaction and immediately came over to force the driver to move.

So I guess either keep police officers posted at Starbucks during rush hour, or perhaps get a bollard or cone or something to make it clear that motor vehicles should not be blocking the protected cycle track? Either's fine with me, but a plastic bollard seems like it'd be a lot cheaper and far more effective.
