Description

Hi,
I am an RN and avid cyclists. When there is a lot of traffic this light allows time for cyclists to cross safely. Recently a 24 year old woman was seriously injured and is still in a coma because a car hit her in this spot as she was traveling north on Genesee. I go that way on the week-ends and if there is light traffic, for example one car to trigger the light, as I proceed the light changes red while I am still crossing. I am a pretty quick rider and knowing the light I proceed quickly and check out the traffic situation on La Jolla Village Drive to make sure they see me if I get caught. Someone who does not know about this light could (and perhaps was) caught in a dangerous situation. DEADLY.
Any questions, call me anytime at 858 535 0133.
Thank you,
Danette
