Description

For close to a year now, a permanent homeless camp has come to occupy the Claremont Avenue off ramp from Highway 24. As a neighborhood resident that spent time with the Scenic Streets Organization to beautify this parcel of land, this is truly unfortunate. The Scenic Streets group worked hard to beautify this off-ramp so people could exit the freeway and feel good about entering Rockridge. Now all we see if filth and trash from these campers. As a property tax paying resident of Rockridge, I do not understand why it is okay for people to set up permanent tents on city property and riddle the area with garbage. It's obvious to both residents and homeless campers alike that nothing will be done about this situation which results in this camp getting larger each week. Please help protect our neighborhood and address this issue.
