Drunks continue to harass tourists and residents all along Broadway including on the wall in front of the Police Department. It is an embarrassment to our beautiful city. I've apologized to visitors and tourists and have suggested that they just say, "No" and continue walking. This panhandling and harassment does not put our city in a good light.

Although we thank you for reporting your concern via Report It Newport, the appropriate mechanism for citizen requests that involve enforcement matters is via the City Police Department. In the future, please report these types of incidents directly to the Newport Police Department at 847-1306 at which time an officer can be dispatched to the site. Thank you.
